B&D Insul-Shield

The B&D Insul-Shield is an insulated garage door system designed to provide superior thermal and acoustic performance for your home. With an R-value of 1.4 W/m²K, Insul-Shield offers excellent resistance to heat flow, helping to regulate the temperature in your garage and adjoining rooms.

Thermal Performance

The door sections are constructed using two steel skins with a true thermal break, preventing heat and cold transfer between the exterior and interior surfaces. The two skins are laminated with liquid moisture-cured, CFC-free urethane adhesive and sandwiched around a rigid graphite-infused Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) insulated core. EPS is a stable, high-quality, and environmentally friendly insulating material ideally suited for garage door applications.

Sound Reduction

Independent testing shows an 18dB reduction in noise with Insul-Shield insulation - that's double the sound control of a standard uninsulated Panelift door. This makes it ideal for homes near busy roads or for garages that adjoin living spaces.

Sealing System

The Insul-Shield system is available with up to three separate seals to combat air migration:

• A thermal barrier joint seal running the full width of the door
• A deep cushioning 'U' shape flexible vinyl extrusion attached to the bottom panel
• A Jamb Edge Seal System to seal gaps between the door and opening

Style Options

Insul-Shield is available in two modern profiles - flat wood grain or ribbed wood grain finish - and comes in the standard Colorbond range.

Available Sizes

Door widths range from 1800mm to 6600mm, while door heights range from 1800mm to 2850mm.
